In the 1930s and '40s, the term *hipster* first appeared to describe white people who were 'hip' to the African-American jazz scene, which was often underground. By the early 2000s, the word was revived and applied to counter-culture residents of trendy New York City neighborhoods. Geocaching is a great hobby for everyone, from OG hipsters to today's niche culture aficionados. Whether you're still sporting the vintage ball-and-socket you were born with, or have opted for a more steampunk metallic vibe, get your hips in gear and find these caches before they go mainstream. Flannel optional.
The B.G. Parks mandate for the geocaches at Wintergarden Preserve is to bring people here to visit our wonderful city resource, keep the social trails to a minimum, and to provide opportunities for families to interact with nature. Caches are replaced every October(ish). Please be mindful of the plant community and remember that the best route may not be the shortest route.
