Í,SȻAĆEL (a good new day - a rebirth or starting anew)

This park and geocache is located on the territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ (peoples and land), specifically called ȽÁU,WELṈEW - “Place of Refuge.” This place is called the “place of refuge” because of the cultural and historical connection to saving the W̱SÁNEĆ - where the WILṈEW̱ (people) fastened the canoes to arbutus trees, with cedar rope, and survived the ‘Great Flood.’
