The Cache
The cache is in an area that is not so often visited by tourists. The intention is, to bring awareness about the market on Fridays. To avoid the crowds on Fridays, the cache was placed some meters from one of the market start points and you might be lucky to park your car just in front of the cache but you would be able to find it without car and travelling by bus. It would be amazing to see some pictures of the market with your logs.
You can find the container on the back of the small wall, just behind the sign. Please hide as you found. Should the logbooks be full, feel free to replace and please post pictures of the old logbook to the cache. Thanks to Georgios for maintenance.
[dt.] Kreta ist eine Insel zum Verlieben. Da dies nicht der letzte Besuch sein wird, soll jedes Mal einen neuer Cache die Reihe Love of Crete (LoC) fortführen. Kreta ist die größte griechische Insel und mit 8261,183 Quadratkilometern Fläche sowie 1066 Kilometern Küstenlinie die fünftgrößte Insel im Mittelmeer. Die Region Kreta umfasst 8336 Quadratkilometer und schließt einige umliegende Inseln mit ein, von denen die vor der kretischen Südküste gelegene, bewohnte Insel Gavdos den südlichsten Punkt Europas markiert. Die Insel hat insgesamt 625.000 Einwohner (Stand 2012). Verwaltungs- und Wirtschaftszentrum Kretas ist Heraklion (Iraklio), die mit etwa 173.993 Einwohnern gleichzeitig die größte Stadt Kretas darstellt. [Quelle: Wikipedia]
Zum Cache
Die Dose ist in einem Bereich, der nicht so oft von Touristen besucht ist. Die Intention dieses Caches ist, die Aufmerksamkeit auf den nahegelegenen Markt zu bringen. Der Markt findet jeden Freitag morgen statt. Einer der Startpunkte ist als Wegpunkt eingezeichnet. Damit ihr den Cache auch problemlos am Freitag loggen könnt, ist er ein paar Meter entfernt und kann gegebenenfalls sogar direkt mit dem Auto angefahren werden. Timbaki ist aber auch gut per Bus erreichbar. Ich würde mich über Fotos der Marktbesuche freuen.
Der Cache ist in der Rückseite einer kleinen Mauer angebracht. Schaut einfach direkt hinter dem Schild nach. Bitte legt den Cache so zurück, wie ihr ihn vorgefunden habt. Sollte das Logbuch mal voll sein, ersetzt dieses gerne und postet ein Foto vom alten Logbuch zum Cache. Vielen Dank an Georgios für die Wartung vor Ort.
