Redan Hill was developed by the British Army as a training facility, replicating the Russian field fortifications that had impressed them during the Crimean War. Today it is a pleasant little park, restored with reinstated historic features, including a replica 32-pounder cannon & gun carriage.
The local Borough Councillors have arranged a community little pick for this park, to which I would like to invite the Geocaching community. They will be providing us with litter pickers (but do bring your own if you have them). Working clothes & good boots are recommended as the terrain can be steep / muddy if venturing off the main paths. Children must be supervised.
We will assemble at the park entrance at 10am, where the main organisers will give a short briefing and distribute rubbish sacks and litter pickers. The event will finish at 11:30am.
Hope to see you there - should be fun!
