Druento - A MEO MANA Traditional Cache

[ITA] 13 luglio 1979, siamo nel pieno degli anni di piombo. Bartolomeo Mana, 34 anni, è in servizio davanti alla Cassa di Risparmio di Via Torino a Druento. Una mattina tranquilla che in un attimo sprofonda nel terrore. Quattro terroristi assaltano la banca, sotto la minaccia delle armi spingono all’interno le due guardie giurate e due vigili, disarmati, che si trovavano all’esterno. Viene intimato a tutti gli astanti di buttarsi a terra; Bartolomeo viene spinto, perde l’equilibrio e cadendo batte la testa. Stordito dalla caduta cerca di rialzarsi e viene colpito con un colpo a bruciapelo alla nuca. I banditi razziano quello che possono e se ne vanno, a bordo della Giulietta gialla con cui erano giunti. Arrivano Polizia e Carabinieri, Bartolomeo Mana viene trasportato con ambulanza all’Ospedale Maria Vittoria di Torino, ma muore appena giunto al Pronto Soccorso. Una morte assurda e senza motivo.

Bartolomeo, “Meo” per gli amici, ha sempre vissuto a Druento, per anni ha lavorato in Provincia come cantoniere, ma a causa di un incidente deve cambiare lavoro. Segue le orme del padre e partecipa al concorso per Vigile Urbano bandito dal Comune, vincendolo. Per ironia della sorte, proprio quel drammatico maledetto 13 luglio gli verrà comunicata formalmente la tanto attesa nomina ufficiale di “Agente di Polizia Giudiziaria”.

La bara viene esposta al piano terra del municipio e vegliata da un picchetto di colleghi in divisa. Viene proclamato il lutto cittadino ed il giorno del funerale le massime autorità cittadine, della Regione, i colleghi dei comuni vicini e migliaia di persone partecipano commossi al corteo funebre.

Nessuna rivendicazione per la rapina, e solo l'anno dopo, a seguito di una maxi operazione internazionale antiterrorismo venne arrestato, tra gli altri, l'assassino di Bartolomeo, che inizia a collaborare con gli inquirenti, permettendo così di scoprire che gli autori della rapina erano militanti di Prima Linea. L’omicida di “Meo” venne condannato a 11 anni e 7 mesi, di cui ne scontò solo due e mezzo. Cambiò identità e continuò la sua attività criminosa per morire in carcere nel 2014.

Nel 2004 Bartolomeo Mana viene insignito della medaglia per meriti speciali dalla Regione Piemonte, in quanto caduto nell’adempimento del servizio.
Nel 2010 gli viene concessa alla memoria, con decret del Presidente della Repubblica, l’onorificenza di vittima del terrorismo con assegnazione di medaglia d'oro.

Four terrorists assault the bank, under the threat of weapons they push the two security guards and two unarmed policemen inside, who were outside.All the onlookers are told to throw themselves to the ground; Bartolomeo is pushed, he loses his balance and falling he beats his head. Stunned by the fall, he tries to get up and is hit with a point-blank blow to the back of his head. The bandits raid what they can and leave, on board the yellow Giulietta with which they had arrived. Police and Carabinieri arrive, Bartolomeo Mana is transported by ambulance to the Maria Vittoria Hospital in Turin, but dies as soon as he arrives in the Emergency Room. An absurd death for no reason.Bartolomeo, "Meo" to his friends, has always lived in Druento, for years he worked in the province as a roadman, but due to an accident he has to change jobs. He follows in his father's footsteps and takes part in the competition for traffic policeman announced by the Municipality, winning it. Ironically, that damned dramatic 13 July will be formally communicated to him the long-awaited official appointment of "Officer of the Judicial Police". The coffin is displayed on the ground floor of the town hall and watched over by a picket of uniformed colleagues. City mourning is proclaimed and on the day of the funeral the highest city and regional authorities, colleagues from neighboring municipalities and thousands of people participate in the funeral procession. No claim for the robbery, and only the following year, following a maxi international counter-terrorism operation, the murderer of Bartholomew was arrested, among others, who began to collaborate with the investigators, thus allowing to discover that the authors of the robbery were "Prima linea" militants. The murderer of "Meo" was sentenced to 11 years and 7 months, of which he served only two and a half. He changed his identity and continued his criminal activity to die in prison in 2014. In 2004 Bartolomeo Mana was awarded the medal for special merits by the Piedmont Region, as he fell in the performance of the service. In 2010 he was awarded in memory, by decree of the President of the Republic, the honor of victim of terrorism with the award of a gold medal..
