New Calliham Cemetery? What about Old Calliham Cemetery...?
Well... most of it is underwater.
This cemetery is a conglomeration of a few different cemeteries that were moved from and around the original town of Calliham which is now under the Choke Canyon Reservoir, plus others who have passed.
Accoring to A Study of Five Historic Cemeteries at Choke Canyon Reservoir... (a very fascinating read) thirty four graves were dicovered and moved to this cemetery and others from Dec 1981- Nov 1982 to make for the Reservoir.
Many of the remains are uknown due to loss of markers, age, and vandals.
Other graves in this cemetery tell sad stories about parents who lost multiple children and many veterans.
