I used to do the polar bear swim in Whiterock, but the drive and finding parking made it a pain in the butt.
If you don't want to do the swim that is ok, still come out and laugh at those dummies that do.
Obviously swimming can be a dangerous activity so keep an eye on your kids and if you can't swim just go in as deep as you are comfortable with.
I also HIGHLY recommend you wear some old shoes or something to protect your feet, we have seen glass at this location in the past. Who knows what the river will bring along with it.
