One of Ocean View’s hidden gems is John West Park. Located between West Avenue and Central Avenue, the park offers recreational opportunities for all ages. During the summer, the park is a Mecca for children and families to play, picnic and just relax. Disabled cachers are invited as well. The park has paths and a parking area that could be policed easily by wheelchair. Last year a small group of cachers met here and you picked up plenty of cigerette butts, bottle caps, and broken glass around the park. Never underestimate picking up the small stuff.
CITO stands for Cache In Trash Out. It’s the geocacher’s approach to keeping our game board (i.e. the entire planet) in great shape. Geocachers gather together to pick up trash, remove invasive species, repair trails and more! Also all geocachers who participate in a CITO between October 1st to November 30th will earn a pretty sweet new souvenir!
