Hanoosh: Hi

This cache has been flagged by Geocaching HQ as one that may need attention.

It would appear that this cache may benefit from some attention by the cache owner as it has either not been found for a while or there is a reported issue with the cache. May I ask that you check the cache to confirm it is still in situ and/or deal with any maintenance required and/or give an indication of when it may be up and running again for people to find.

If there is no response to this log after 30 days I will archive the cache. In the meantime I am disabling the cache.

Guidelines:

  • You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.) or posts a Needs Maintenance log. Temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have addressed the problem.

You are permitted a reasonable amount of time - generally, up to 4 weeks – in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing.

Could the cache owner please place a note on the cache page so that other cachers and I can see what your intentions are.

If you no longer wish to maintain the cache then the listing should be archived.

Please DO NOT send an email about this cache in case I do not receive it. Posting a reviewer note will ensure your cache does not get archived in error.

Please note that the guidelines say that if a cache is archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ staff for lack of maintenance then it will not be unarchived. Here is the link to the relevant part of the guidelines Ownership after publication.

Geocache Description:

Medieval Norwich Series - Strangers Hall

Exploring Some of the Medieval sites in this historic city

Another Medieval Norwich cache and another puzzle. For those who have time free and need a puzzle lol. Stealth required as cache is on a busy road, please replace so cache is not visible.

Strangers Hall is a marvellous Tudor merchant's house, used as a museum of local history since the 1930s. The house boasts richly furnished 16th and 17th century interiors, with beautifully carved wood panelling, period furniture, and exhibits that show how life was lived here over the centuries. Behind the house is a small knot garden, laid out in the 17th century. History Though the house as we see it today is a product of the Tudor period, the building dates back to around 1320 and may have been built for a merchant named Ralph de Middleton. Around 1450 William Barley rebuilt the 14th century hall, turning the structure on its axis to run parallel to the street, as we see it today. The arrangement of rooms in Barley's building were quite odd; the living quarters could only be reached by a narrow stair at the back of the undercroft Then in 1530 the Lord Mayor of Norwich, Nicholas Sotherton, added a front door with the lovely carved porch and steps we see today. Over the years the house has served as a residence for wealthy merchants and more mayors of Norwich, but the essential layout has hardly changed since the 17th century.
