Come down to Jim Thorpe on Saturday afternoon, November 2, 2019 to enjoy the colorful autumn leaves and a short geocaching get together.
This event will take place at Josiah White Park, which is next to the train station in the town of Jim Thorpe. We will meet at one of the picnic tables in the park, next to the giant piece of coal. The event will start at 3:00 PM, but I should be there before that if anyone wants to come a little early. The event will last until around 3:45 PM. There is parking along the street (parking meters) and there is also a large municipal parking lot which you can park in for a fee. Bring your geocaching stories to share with others.
As many of you know, I love trains. For those interested, some of us are going to be taking a train ride on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway after the event. The train ride is approximately 45 minutes long and follows the Lehigh River through Lehigh Gorge State Park. The train will be boarding passengers at 3:45 PM and it departs the station at 4:00 PM. There is a fee for the train ride, but this is an optional activity after the event and taking the train is not a requirement of attending the event. If you are interested in taking the train ride, tickets can be purchased in advance or the day of the event. You can contact the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway at 570-325-8485 to reserve your tickets and/or get more information on the train ride or you can check out their website.
This is a family friendly event. Well behaved dogs are also allowed. Hope to see you there.
