La Cima Gioia è una montagna delle Alpi Apuane alta 860 m, situata sullo spartiacque tra il bacino del Frigido e del Carrione e quindi sul confine tra Massa e Carrara. Il profilo di questo monte è stato profondamente alterato dalla presenza dei grandi bacini marmiferi circostanti, che sono tuttora in attività. Dalla cima si possono ammirare i paesi di Colonnata, Casette e Forno, oltre alle cave di marmo. Nel 2017 è stato inaugurato il grande murales dell'artista brasiliano Eduardo Kobra, rappresentante il David di Michelangelo. L'opera, di 10 metri per 11, è dipinta su una grande parete di marmo ed è visibile dai paesi sottostanti.
Il murales può essere raggiunto da Colonnata in circa 1 ora e un quarto, seguendo il sentiero per il Monte Tamburone e il David, oppure da Case Vergheto o da Capanne, sul versante massese. Nella parte finale ci sono tratti esposti protetti da cavi, si raccomanda l'uso di calzature adeguate e un minimo di esperienza nel camminare in montagna.
La cache è un contenitore di tipo lock and lock contenente logbook e matita, in cui è possibile scambiare piccoli oggetti, nascosto nel livello più alto, a qualche decina di metri dal murales. Buona ricerca!
The Cima Gioia is a mountain in the Apuan Alps, 860 m high, located on the watershed between the Frigido and Carrione basin and therefore on the border between Massa and Carrara. The profile of this mountain has been profoundly altered by the presence of the large surrounding marble basins, which are still in operation. From the top you can admire the villages of Colonnata, Casette and Forno, as well as the marble quarries. In 2017 the great mural by the Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra, representing Michelangelo's David, was inaugurated. The work, sized 10 meters by 11, is painted on a large marble wall and is visible from the underlying villages.
The mural can be reached from Colonnata in about 1 hour and a quarter, following the path for Monte Tamburone and David, or from Case Vergheto or from Capanne, on the Massa side. In the final part there are exposed sections protected by cables, we recommend the use of appropriate footwear and a minimum of experience in walking in the mountains.
The cache is a lock and lock type container containing logbook and pencil, in which it is possible to exchange small objects, hidden in the highest level, a few dozen meters from the mural. Happy geocaching!
