Geocache Description:

Day 11 - 2019 Cachemas in STL

THE SLAGA TWELVE DAYS OF CACHEMAS ARE BACK!!!

Here’s how it works: For 12 consecutive days beginning December 12th (Day 1), a new cache will be published and every day afterwards until December 23rd. If you are able to First to Find, FTF, one of these daily caches, an FTF Cachemas Ornament will be in the container for you to keep. Once again, L Frank has designed a unique ornament that can be converted to a cache container for a future hide; or, you may keep it, your choice. PLEASE, if you get an FTF on one of the 12 days, do not go for another one until day 13, let someone else have the fun.

Again, this year, there will be a Bonus Cache on the 13th day, December 24th. EVERYONE is eligible to FTF the bonus whether or not you have FTFed a Cachemas hide. This cache can only be found by using all the codes written on the inside of the container lid of each daily cache. Keep these codes and use them to solve the location of the Bonus cache which will publish on the final day, December 24th. The Bonus solution will be included in the final day Cache description and I am promised, it is not a difficult solution.

THE BONUS CACHE CONTAINS TWO LARGE PREMIUM GEOCOINS

AS WELL AS AN AWESOME ORNAMENT

The North Pole

The cache IS located at the posted coordinates.

MERRY CACHEMAS! Santa’s been busy in his workshop. This year a blizzard passed through the arctic circle and no mail has been able to reach Santa. Never fear, Ol’ St. Nick has a backup plan for finding out who has been naughty and nice: the magical north pole. The north pole has a special magic that tells Santa which geocachers have been good and which have been bad—you just need to get it open. Beware, Jack Frost, the Grinch, and other well-known Christmas characters may try and thwart your efforts.

At the posted coordinates search for the north pole. Solve the easy field puzzle to open the container. Once you have the container open don't forget to add your name to Santa's naughty and nice list. Good luck and merry christmas!

Directions/Tips for Opening the Lock

  • Squeeze the shackle firmly towards the lock twice to reset it before entering the combination.
  • Enter the code SLOWLY. The lock is finicky and if you don't enter the code carefully, the lock will not release.
  • As you enter the code, Gently and SLOWLY slide the directional arrow ALL THE WAY to the left or right. Make sure to RETURN THE ARROW ALL THE WAY BACK to the center point after each slide. It is very important that the arrow travels all the way to the left or right and all the way back or the code will not work.
  • Make sure you have the correct code. Several cachers have reported the lock was broken but did not enter the correct code.

This cache was placed AS IS with permission from the City Of Manchester Parks Department.
