Pedras Boroa do Cercal Traditional Cache

Esta cache tem por objectivo dar a conhecer mais um fenómeno geológico do concelho de Oliveira de Frades. Trata-se das Pedras Boroa do Cercal, localizado na Freguesia de S. João da Serra.

As pedras boroas são blocos graníticos que sofreram fracturação poligonal, resultante da diferença térmica da zona, conferindo à superfície rochosa um aspeto muito característico da côdea da broa.

This cache aims to make known another geological phenomenon of the municipality of Oliveira de Frades. This are the Boroa do Cercal Stones, located in the parish of S. João da Serra.

Boron stones are granite blocks that have suffered polygonal fracture, resulting from the thermal difference of the zone, giving the rocky surface a very characteristic aspect of the breadcrumb crust.
