CacheWalker Twixmas Bash 2019

It’s time for our annual CacheWalker Twixmas bash.  It’s a move away from the Cotswolds again to leafy Warwickshire.

Everyone is welcome to attend, cachers old and new so come along and enjoy the usual geocaching gossip and festive goings on.

The bash is in two parts, the pre-event walk followed by the main event.

Pre-Event Walk.

Meet at the Priors Village Hall at 9.15am for a 9.30am depart for the traditional Twixmas CacheWalker pre-event walk.

The route is approximately 4.5 miles along an undulating course.  The course leaves Priors Marston and follows the road for a short distance and then footpaths/bridleways around the western edge of the village returing to the Hall.   There is a short section of road walking where care will be needed.  As is tradition with CacheWalker events there will be new caches released on the day.

We must point out that this is a pre-event walk and therefore you are not obliged to participate.  We are simply noting it here so that you are aware of the goings on for the day, in keeping with Event guidelines.  Please don’t forget to bring a change of footware for the official event afterwards as some of the route will almost certainly be muddy.

Note that the route is dog friendly but dogs are not allowed in the hall.

Main Event

The Event will take place in Priors Village Hall from 12.00 till 15.00.  We will have full access to the hall’s kitchen and toilet facilities.  Lunch will not be provided by the organisers so bring your own food, Christmas leftovers or something else to eat and maybe share around. There will be the usual amount of geochat, fun, TB/GC spotting and of course the Secret Santa raffle.

Secret Santa Raffle

A raffle will take place to fund costs for the event and hire of the hall.  If you can bring along a wrapped gift, ideally geocaching related (one that you would want to receive) that would be great.  On your arrival please put your wrapped gift on Santa’s Raffle table.  Then don’t forget to purchase a raffle ticket.  Each present will be selected and a raffle ticket drawn from the lock-n-lock box.

Other Activities

TB/GC swapping and spotting – as usual, there will be time for TB swapping and spotting. Why not drop off your TBs in the box for other cachers to pick up and move on.

FTF draw – all attendees will be entered in the FTF draw.  The winner shall go home with a little prize.
