This cache is placed in honor of my wonderful dog, Sahari.Â
The September after I finished high school, I got my first apartment, renting out part of my grandma's basement. When Christmas came around, I decided that as a present to myself for my new "adult" life, I was going to get a dog. (Let's just ignore the fact that I didn't ask permission to be able to have a pet while renting. Sorry Grandma...) A few days before the holiday, I went with my boyfriend at the time to NSAL to look at dogs. By the end of our trip there, I had found and fallen in love with my new puppy. I named her Sahari (it was just something that came into my head and I thought sounded pretty, like her, so I went with it) and she became my princess. I loved her so much, and was absolutely beyond heartbroken when she passed unexpectedly on me in 2017. I wanted to honor her, and decided to place a cache for her on her birthday, October 22nd. She would have turned 14 this year.Â
With Ogus's help, we took a trip to Port Washington to place her cache. I was initially planning on hiding it near where I had gotten her as a puppy, but when we went to do that, I realized it was just way too busy of a parking lot. So we ended up over at this spot instead, and I think it's much better. There is a beautiful view, and I think she would have loved to walk around and smell everything she possibly could here. You're looking for a little container with some room for very small trades. Make sure you BYOP, and please use stealth if there are muggles around. Please do NOT remove the photo from the container. I hope you'll come find this easy hide, and wish Sahari a happy birthday!
I love and miss you every single day, my sweet puppy. You were such a good dog. Â
Happy caching!
