"By art, omnipotent art, my father, Aquarius has
Imbibed the oceans this ship of ours, allay them.
The sky, as it seems, would issue down stinking pitch on us,
And alas, that the sea, mount th' welkin’s impudence,
Dashes the blazing fire out. For what woe, O, I endure
With those I saw ache! Vessel of courage,
Dashed into all its pieces. The cry, it did knock
Against my very heart! O, poor souls, they perished.
Had if I be powerful god, I immediately act in
Sinking the audacious sea."
Welcome to Willow Lake Nature Reserve, site of the Pat Dolan Trail. Pat Dolan helped to maintain these trails and create the beautiful walkway that it is today. It can be used as a cut-through for commuters from the Forest Hills area to Kew Gardens Hills. You probably wont even notice the Jamaica Yard right next door except for a large white building and occassionally some squeaks of vibrating wheels. The Northern End is bounded by Corona Park / Flushing Meadows and is a very beautiful salt marsh area with significant bio-diversity, especially of the avian type. Bird watches and fishermen can often be found at various stakeouts here. There are several other caches in the park to try as well, as well as a whole slew of unique caches in Corona Park by TIPSY.
I happened to notice this area while passing through and it has some very impressive gargantuan trees that were apparently all destroyed in a storm. The entire area is a motley of the husks of giant trees, un-tamed poison ivy, and young trees trying to worm their way up to the canopy. In midsummer, the area can be quite buggy, but in the winter it is quite nice albiet muddy. Nothing too difficult to traverse, though, except at night.
This cache is not at the posted coordinates. Solve the puzzle to obtain the coordinates. The puzzle is contained entirely above the line. Once you figure out the method to obtain the solution, it should be very straightforward.
