Geocache Description:

This multi cache will take you to the final resting places of the Packard Brothers, William and James.

William Doud Packard and James Ward Packard founded the Packard Motor Car company on November 6, 1899. The first 400 Packard cars were built in their Warren, Ohio factory on nearby Dana Street.

In 1902, a group of wealthy investors refinanced, renamed, and moved the company to Detroit, Michigan where it remained until the Packard name was removed in 1959.

After the company relocated to Detroit, the Packard brothers focused on making automotive electrical systems via the Packard Electric Company also in Warren, Ohio.

William died in 1923 (aged 62 years) and James died in 1928 (aged 64 years).

Both were laid to rest here in Oakwood Cemetery alongside numerous other members of the Packard family.

To find this multi cache, you'll need to perform a few simple tasks:

Step 1: Locate the grave marker of William Doud Packard (waypoint 1). Facing his grave stone, turn around to your back right. You'll notice a large dark colored stone (about 14 feet away) with a family name at the base. What is this family name?

Step 2: Locate the grave marker of James Ward Packard (waypoint 2). Facing his grave stone, find the grave stone immediately to the left in the same row. What is the last name on this stone?

Now take the two names you just found and enter them in order in the form NAMENAME into the checker below. You will then be rewarded with the coordinates to the final container containing the logbook.
