Geocache Description:

This is the Northern Outfall Sewer Embankment (NOSE) AKA The Greenway. Designed by Jospeh Bazalgette as part of the great Victorian sewerage solution this 7km route was covered over and opened as a walkway in the early 1990s as part of a green strategy. A great pedestrian and cycle route connecting Hackney Wick to Beckton and connecting with other off road local routes such as the River Lea, the Long Wall path (recently reopened) and many pathways around Beckton and the Thames. It is now also known as Q22 as part of the Quietway cycle routes.

This section of the Greenway crosses over the City Mill River and diverts around the railway lines to Marshgate Lane.  This is part of the section that was closed for some years to for essential repair work.  It reopened in July 2019.

Due to recent criminal activity in this area, the police are currently recommending to avoid this area in the evening unless you are in a group, particularly from 4-9pm.

Cache is a camoflagued clip lock box.  Rooms for SWAG or small trackables.
