Geocache Description:

Nestled in the Pohangina Valley the Tōtara Reserve Regional Park is a real treasure of the Manawatu region. Covering 340 ha of bush, the reserve offers a wide range of attractions to the day visitor. From walking tracks, swimming holes, and the native wildlife that is scattered all over the park.

A network of tracks takes you on a journey through the mixed podocarp forest with its tall canopy trees, shrub and forest floor communities, a wide variety of birds and animals, and wonderful views of the Ruahine Ranges and Pohangina Valley.

To operate this special cache, you will need approx 600mls of clean, fresh, water.

This is an ideal cache to introduce someone new to geocaching. Bring some children or a friend with you as you'll need teamwork to access the logbook. Also, some spare water might be handy.

This cache isn't suitable for trading items or trackables.

Once you have logged your visit, please do the lid up firmly on the log container, but don't over-tighten, then send it back in, up the right way. Then replace the PVC cap to keep the inside nice and clean.

Please bring your own pen.

The logbook is made with waterproof paper. Online logs not matching the paper logbook will be deleted.

Have Fun!
