The Oregon Trail played a major role in the development of the Pacific Northwest. Just out of Baker City, Oregon, one can find traces of the old Oregon Trail. This virtual cache commemorates the early pioneers.
This is an easy drive up to cache. All you have to do to claim this one is e-mail me, tell me what the object is and when it was erected.
While you are there, look up on the hill to the east. That is the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. It is well worth the small entry fee to visit and learn so much more about the struggles the people who settled this land faced. The wax figures look so lifelike. The oxen even have flies on them -- very realistic! Also stop and read the two information boards along the road, near the cache site.
