Park closes at sunset all year. Cache container has room for small trackables and small swag. Your journey will take you down a primitive hiking trail. Be aware of your footing at all times.
Whether you park in the north parking lot (Waypoint P1) or the south parking lot (Waypoint P2) make you way down the paved path towards the Stairstep Quarry Trail trail head (Waypoint TH - see also the trailhead sign in the cache page photo gallery). Next take the mowed grass path towards the stair steps (Waypoint R1). After you make the descent down the steps, follow the mowed path through the pine trees. You cross over a mound covered with rock (Waypoint R2) on your way to the cache. Once you have reached Waypoint R3, turn and face a southwesterly direction at a heading of approximately 212 degrees. Walk towards the granite cliff and start your search.
