Geocache Description:

This cache is intended to be found for Ottawa's GAG27, which starts Friday November 15th at 6pm.  If you find it sooner you will be considered a joker.

For the GAG27 event this cache is part of a Poker Run. A Poker Run is an event where participants acquire cards at various waypoints in an attempt to build the best poker hand (link to poker hands). I've participated in this type of event before and thought the Games themed GAG was great opportunity to recreate it here. After the event the cache will remain as a traditional cache.

Poker Run

This cache is part of a Poker Run. At each cache will be a set of envelopes each one containing a card. Take ONE ENVELOPE ONLY and bring it to the GAG event on Saturday. There you can open your envelopes and reveal your cards. Best poker hand will win a prize.

FAQ

1. How many cards do I take?
One per cacher (a cacher being a registered geocaching user)

2. How many caches are there?
Five. Visit all 5 to build your hand.

3. What's to stop me from going to one cache and taking 5 envelopes?
Each cache's envelopes will have a different letter on it. Collect all 5 to spell a word.

4. What if the cache is out of cards?
Don't worry. Sign the log and snap a pic. I will have more decks at the event and you can draw a card then.

5. What happens if I have a duplicate card?
You will be asked to draw a new card at the event.

6. How will the winner be determined?
Standard poker hand rules will be applied (search for poker hands to see the rankings). There will be a printout at the event with hand rankings.

6. What happens after the event?
The cache will revert to being just a traditional cache. The cards will be removed and the container might be swapped out for a smaller one
