Ok, so let me tell you a story.
When I was a young lad, my family used to travel Highway 401 between Toronto and London to visit family every few months. When we passed certain places on the highway, my brother and I argued about how to pronounce the names we read. Culloden Road at Ingersoll was one of those.
I pronounced it CULL-a-den, and he pronounced it cull-OH-den. We didn't even know about the Scottish way of saying it, cull-AW-den. Undoubtedly the name originated from the famous Scottish battlefield where the Highlanders were routed by the British back in the 18th century.
Anyway, my brother and I would argue, and punch each other, and it would go back and forth for a few minutes, until the next controversy came along. Like Sweatburg Road. We both had a good laugh at that one...
Come and find this small-sized cache, next to a roadside pullout, just off the Culloden Road exit from the 401.
