Geocache Description:

What happened on July 2, 1993? Well, a lot of things occured but this geocache would like to place the spotlight on the longest home run hit to left field at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers were playing the Texas Rangers and in the 8th inning, with Matt Whiteside pitching, Tigers slugger Cecil Fielder came to bat. He launched one high and far and it bounced off the roof in left field (no one was ever able to clear the left field roof). The first estimate was that the ball was hit 502 feet but later the official measurement was listed at 484 feet. The home run tied the game and later, in the 10th inning, Detroit Tigers Mickey Tettleton hit a walk off homer.

How far is 484 feet? The listed coords will bring you to the home plate of the old Fallasburg Cubs field. Start walking towards left field. When you cross the road, you will be about at the left field fence in Tiger Stadium. Walk behind the maintenance building and look for the foul pole. Okay, it's not actually a foul pole, but it is a pole! We have provided the coords in the hint which you can enter into your unit if you have difficulty finding this one.

The park is open during daylight hours only. Congrats to AddHam on your FTF! Now get back to your kitchen renovations!
