Welcome to our second cache placement!
Mt. Alexander is a special place for Cath and I. Hidden off an obscure unmarked road lies the site of one of many abandoned quarry sites that dot the mountain. We have explored Mt. Alexander several times over the past several months and this particular area is one of our favourites due to the fascinating abandoned mining shack, crane, beautiful granite cliffs, old machinery and the lookout. We encourage fellow cachers to explore this area too but take necessary precautions because as referenced below there are a few challenges that lay ahead. Here is a link that goes into more detail regarding the quarry sites: https://vhd.heritagecouncil.vic.gov.au/places/111969
You are looking for a green magnetic nano bison tube. Sounds easy right? WRONG. There are many things to consider before you attempt this cache. You may have a 5 minute walk up the road from Joseph Young Drive or a short drive up a dirt road (beware of potholes). There will be easy parking available almost anywhere with little risk of muggles however beware of the uneven granite terrain once you reach the location as you could scrape the bottom of your car. When you commence your search for the cache you may encounter broken glass, rubbish, prickly bushes, possible water during wet seasons and especially the risk of falling. The cache is very well hidden and may require a different perspective to locate. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND ONLY ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU BELIEVE THIS IS IN YOUR ABILITY TO DO.
We hope you enjoy finding it as much as we enjoyed placing it :) From Ty and Cath.
