This cache is placed in memory of my mum, HummingbirdLady, who grew up around here, in the New Forest, in the house that is in view of this cache. She loved geocaching, the forest and mountains, and hummingbirds too and she loved to travel all over the world.
HummingbirdLady only started geocaching in 2012 at the age of 71, in that short time she managed to find over 2000 caches in a number of countries. Her goal while being in a different country was always to find at least one cache. If she had geocached earlier in her life there would be many more "wild countries" on her list of places she has cached.
To the mountains, I can rest there
To the rivers, I will be strong
To the forest, I'll find peace there
To the wild country, where I belong
