There is a wonderful charm to Ninh Binh that has made it one of our favorite spots in northern Vietnam since our first visit in 2011. This spot has many of the elements of a quintessential Ninh Binh trip: boats slowly rowing past, limestone karst formations surrounding you, a view of the dragon that lies atop the mountain at Mua Cave, and if you’re lucky you will also see some mountain goats skillfully moving alongside one of the steep hillsides nearby.
For several years I've climbed up to the peak at Mua Cave and looked down at this spot and wondered how to get here. It was a trip to the nearby EarthCache that showed me the way.
About the cache: It is a very micro container. You will see the cache from above it, but you’ll need a pen (or a long skinny finger) to give it a push from beneath to help you retrieve it. Take note of the exact spot so you can replace it in the same spot. Please conserve space in the log when signing it.
