Japanese has some proverbs concerning an insect, such as “insect’s sign” (premonition), “insect in my stomach not to be calm” (can’t contain myself) and “dislike an insect”(disliking) for example. Japanese has deep relation to an insect from ancient times. The place name having the kanji including an insect is found here and there. 7 places including the kanji of an insect in the place name exist in Saitama pref. Another 7 places including the kanji of an insect not in the place name but in the remains name or the structure name exsist in Saitama pref.now. I hid some caches in these places as the insect series.
虫の知らせ。腹の虫が治まらない。虫が好かない。など、古来日本人と虫は切っても切れない仲でした。
地名においても、日本各地には虫または蜂や蛇など、偏旁に虫の漢字を含む地名が散見されます。
それらの地名は、北アルプスの蝶が岳のように、蝶の形をした雪形から想起されたものなど、漢字そのものの意味に由来する場合もありますが、青森県の有名な温泉である「浅虫」のように、「麻蒸」が元の地名で麻を蒸した場所を表していましたが、「蒸す」が火、火事に通じるので「浅虫」を当て字にしたように、多くは当て字として使われました。
埼玉県には、虫または虫を含む漢字の付く地名「虫の地」は、現存するもので７か所{1}、今は地名としては使われてませんが遺跡や構造物として残っているものが７か所{2}あります。

Kabakariya is in Yoshimi town where is famous for Yoshimi Hyakuana or Udon. Kabakariya is a small village along famous Sakurazutsumi park where is famous for a flower viewing and the circumference is a rice field zone. The origin of Kabakariya had unrelated for a mosquito and was called "Kamakari valley village" until the Edo era. Because this land was made by harvesting cattail in the wilderness and cultivating, this village seemed to be named Kamakari valley. But it does not know why Kamakariya became to Kabakariya.
ここ 比企郡 吉見町 蚊斗谷（かばかりや） (大字) は、吉見百穴やうどんが有名な比企郡吉見町にあります。
蚊斗谷は花見の有名な桜堤公園に沿った小さな集落で、回りは水田地帯です。
蚊斗谷の由来は、蚊とは関係がなく江戸時代までは「蒲刈谷村」と呼ばれていました。
この土地は原野の蒲（がま）を刈り取って開墾された所なので蒲刈谷としたようですが、なぜ蒲刈を蚊斗にしたのかは判っていません。
キャッシュは蚊斗谷集会所の近くに隠しました。
