1000 years ago in 1019, King Cnut gave the manors of Ludham Village including the land this cache stands on to St Benet's Abbey. The ruins of the Abbey are nearby and are worth a visit. Fast forward to 1926 and Ludham Village Hall was built in this field. The hall and grounds are used regularly for village activities and sports. You are welcome to visit this site at any time and the cache was placed with the kind permission of Ludham Village Hall.
More information abut the history of Ludham can be found on the Ludham Community Archive website www.ludhamarchive.org.uk
The cache is a medium sized tube with room for a few swaps and travel bugs.
There is plenty of parking at Ludham Village Hall and you can also walk to the site from Ludham Village along a safe road with footpaths. There is also a public footpath opposite leading to How Hill. If you are walking from Ludham Bridge, maybe from a boat or the caravan park, please note that there is no footpath along Norwich Road in this direction and you should instead follow the public footpath from Hall Road through Ludham Hall Farm and along Lover's Lane.
