Who would of thought that the river Tees would provide home for such a wide variety of birds and mammals?

 Cormorants are a common sight at the barrage and will often be seen sunning themselves in the trade mark fashion with thier wings out on the river bank.The Cormorants are fish eaters and catch their prey by diving from the surface, and once under the water propel themselves with their large webbed feet with a little help from their wings.Their diet consists of fish, small eels and even water snakes, this can often bring them into conflict with anglers. We say live and let live there's always room for these striking, eye catching birds.
