Secret Side Yard at JBER (CM #29) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Dogliest: This cache has a had a GREAT run ==> 22 favorites and 54 finders, with no DNFs until it went missing at the end. Alas, it was kind of a one-of-kind sort of thing while that condition existed on the site. Now the place has changed, so it is time to be archived. That was fun!

Geocache Description:

JBER was created in 2009 by the combination of the Elmendorf Air Force Base and the Fort Richardson Army Base.

Elmendorf Air Force Base was named for Capt. Hugh M. Elmendorf, an innovative "high altitude" test pilot killed in a 1933 experimental fighter test near Wright Field, Ohio.

Fort Richardson was named for the military pioneer explorer, Brig. Gen. Wilds P. Richardson, who served as head of the War Department's Alaska Road Commission from 1905 to 1917.  He was responsible for much of the surveying and building of early railroads, roads, and bridges that helped the state’s settlement and growth. The Richardson Highway between Fairbanks and Valdez is also named in his honor.

The cache is available year-round in this "side yard" of JBER, but of course, there is some mischief involved in the container and the cache page.
