Geocache Description:

This series of 19 caches is set on the Tarka Trail.

There are a lot of things in North Devon called Tarka after the otter in Henry Williamson's novel. The Railway from Exeter, Barnstaple's tennis centre, this trail, a camping site at Ashford to name a few. I've often wondered would that be the case had Mr. Williamson named the otter Cedric. I very much doubt it!

An easy linear trail only made harder by the amount and variety of muggles, but as you will have to walk or cycle the trail twice, there will be a second chance at each cache should you be muggled the first time.

All directions assume that you are doing the trail in numerical order.

The hints are pretty good as the GPS did wander about when I was setting the trail.

The trail has been awarded an Amberel Top Cache geocoin. Thanks Andy!

There is free parking at Lee Bridge, see waypoint.

If you only want to walk the trail one way, you should park in Ilfracombe and the catch a bus, alighting at Turnpike Cross, and then walk back. Doing the trail this way it is mostly downhill.

At the time of placing there were three unactivated TB's in one of the caches, one each for the FTF (Devontombstone), 2ndTF (Teazeldog) and the 3rdTF (Dylan 1966).

Cache is a 35mm film case...
