Geocache Description:

Clue

Let's play Clue!!

Somewhere within Wetaskiwin County, we have hidden a Regular-sized ammo can. In order to figure out the coordinates of the final cache (Clue #6 - Who Killed Mr. Boddy?), cachers will need to locate clues found within each of the first 5 caches in this series (Clue #1 through Clue #5). Locating the clues within each of these caches will help you eliminate the possible options for the final location.

The game of Clue (or Cluedo in the UK) has been around since the late 1940's, and has been a favorite for many gamers over the years. The object of the game is to determine who killed the game's victim ("Mr. Boddy", or "Mr. Black" in the UK version), which room the crime took place in, and which weapon was used. In one of the classic US versions, there are 6 possible "suspects" (Mrs. Peacock, Mrs. White, Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum, Reverend Green, and Miss Scarlet), 9 possible "rooms" (Conservatory, Study, Kitchen, Dining Room, Lounge, Library, Hall, Ballroom, and Billiard Room), and 6 possible "weapons" (Wrench, Rope, Lead Pipe, Candlestick, Dagger, and Revolver). Players attempt to determine the correct answer by strategically moving around a game board representing the rooms of a mansion and collecting clues about the circumstances of the murder from the other players.

Just like in the board game, cachers will need to find clues from each of the first 5 caches in this series (Clue #1 through Clue #5). Finding the first 5 caches should be relatively straight forward. Looking within the log books for these caches, cachers will find either 3 or 4 cards (one "suspect" card, one "weapon" card, and either one or two "room" cards). Please leave the cards and the log book in the cache for the next cacher to find.

We have included a number of blank Game Sheets in each of the first 5 caches. Please feel free to take one of these sheets, and use them for keeping track of what clues you've already found. If you are caching as part of a group, please only take one sheet for each group so that we don't need to restock the cache with new sheets as often. Alternately, you can download your own game sheet by clicking this link (Click Here). If a particular cache is getting low on the number of game sheets left, please contact us directly (i.e. don't just click the "needs maintenance" button) and we'll head out there to restock the cache.

Once you have identified the suspect card, for instance, you can eliminate this suspect from the list of 6 possible suspects. The same will be true for the room cards and the weapon cards. After finding the clues within the log books of Clue #1 through Clue #5, you will have eliminated all but one suspect, one room and one weapon, which you will need in order to determine the coordinates for the series final (Clue #6).
