Washington CITO - Friday 29th November 10am until 3pm.
We will be working on NCN7 (Coast to Coast) cycle and walking track in Harraton, Washington. Please meet on the cycle track bridge next to the mural. Parking is available next to the garages off Firtree Avenue / Rowan Avenue, NE38 9AG.
Fancy learning the traditional art of hedgelaying? We have a section of hedge to lay along with clearing overhanging and encroaching vegetation from the steps and under the bridge and litter picking. We will also be touching up the Greener Greenways mural and be joined by the artist who created it!
All tools will be provided courtesy of Sustrans.
Please come along dressed for the weather with warm / waterproof clothing with long sleeves and trousers and sturdy footwear. Old clothes that you do not mind getting paint upon would be good. A pair of gardening gloves would be handy too.
You will need to bring along aome snacks and a drink for yourself. Tea / coffee and biscuits will be provided.
We will finish the workday around 2pm and head to the Barley Mow pub for a carvery lunch. You will need to bring some money along for this.
PLEASE log a will attend if you intend to come along even if you can only stay for a short amount of time. I need to know how many people to expect so that I have enough tools for everyone.
This event will make a huge difference to the local area and really make the place nicer for people to cycle, walk and geocache in!
I hope to see you there!
