The first summer after I got married, I would travel this road on my way to my job in Seattle. I had a tendency to drive a "bit" fast and after three tickets in a couple of months driving this route, new wife was not impressed with what was happening to our car insurance. Then several years later she had to get up in the middle of the night to pick me up because my truck had broken down. This time she was in a hurry, took this corner too fast and dropped over the edge of the asphault (pre guardrails). Since we had a front wheel drive car at the time she couldn't get it backed on to the roadway. When an officer stopped to check things out, he had to call a tow truck to get her moved. He also confirmed to the dispatcher that she was not drinking. He could see she was simply angry standing there in her robe after being called out of the house after midnight. We have a lot of stories about this road and after many, many years, they are funny to us...even if they weren't at the time.
