Geocache Description:


The original Railway Terminus in Skopje was destroyed by an Earthquake.

This cache is placed to compliment the one located at the current railway station.

On July 26 1963 Skopje was almost completely destroyed by an earthquake of 6.1 magnitude, which killed over 1,070 people, injured between 3,000 and 4,000 and left more than 200,000 people homeless. About 80 percent of the city was destroyed. The cache is placed with sight of the remaining facade of the original station building. The clock on the building is stopped at 17.16 when the earthquake struck the city, the building is now is home to the Museum of the City of Skopje
