St Andrew's cross - but we're not sure why, when we've placed this lovely cache in his honour on his special feast day, November 30th!
Andrew the apostle was a fascinating character, with a long legacy, and despite being the patron saint of several countries is most often associated with Scotland. The St Andrew's Cross, or saltire, is familiar as the flag of Scotland, the town named after him is home to the third oldest university in the English speaking world and gave birth to the noble game of golf, and you'd be hard pressed to go to a city the world over which doesn't have a church named after him....or at least a fish&chip shop!
This cache is placed in his honour, and while you don't have to wear a kilt to retrieve it, passerbys most certainly would appreciate it! There is no specific hint, but you should have no problem finidng it if you channel his legacy. The terrain can be a little treacherous in any season, so please be careful on your approach.
FTF gets a special 1986 commemorative £2, which in today's money is worth at least £2.10!!!
Other swag includes a Scottish Geocaching keychain and two Scottish Wood Geocoins!
!!!congrats to najmo for their very first FTF!!!
