The Lenches Walk
The Lenches Walk series is an easy "winter friendly" walk of about 4.5m / 7.25Km with a number of good parking options. The cache names are themed after song titles which are somehow related to the cache location. There are 18 caches and the route goes past 4 other caches, one of which "Another Brick in the Wall" fits in nicely with the series theme.
This route is mostly along quiet country lanes, except for:
--Mud warning--
There is a short section near the start along a gently rising bridle path (Franklin's Lane caches LW2 & LW3) which may be wet and/or churned up by horses. Then a short uphill stretch of bridle path (cache LW4) which was quite muddy when we put out the series after a rainy November. This part is not wheelchair or pushchair friendly.
--End of mud warning--
All of the rest of the route from just after LW4 is on good hard walking surface - firstly along a good solid farm track and then it's tarmac roads all the way round and back to the starting point.
Suggested parking and starting point for the series is in a wide layby next to LW1 with space for about 4 cars.
If you want to avoid the bridle path altogether and walk solely on tarmac, you can do this by shortening the walk: either walk down from the suggested parking to Church Lench along Low road, and do just the bottom loop, or ignore the 'top loop' altogether and park at one of the other suggested parking places.
All the caches are reasonably easy to find: the cache names should help, and our hints tend to be fairly explicit.
