Out exploring Haruatai Park in Otaki prior to geocaching, my family and I came across this interesting area. If you enjoy exploring abandoned buildings, looking at old rusty items and/or playing on rope swings then this may be the cache for you.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL when exploring, the ground around here is uneven in places. You may also encounter soggy ground, long grass, prickly plants and broken old bricks and concrete. I really don't want anyone getting injured.
There is plenty of parking available up by Otaki swimming pool. Across the field you will find a walking path. There are various ways to get to GZ. I've included some waypoints that may help, but feel free to take a different route. Once you are at the ruins and rusty relics, you can take either the left hand path (marked track) or the stairs (if you can find them) to get to the rope swing (have a go, you know you want to!). The cache is located a short walk from here, slightly off the path.
The cache is a small black (semi-little?) cylinder, larger than a film canister but less than 100ml, containing a logbook and small pen.
