When: Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 3pm to 4pm. Come for as long as you wish!
What: Bring your own sled / crazy carpet / inner tube, and show off your amazing tobogganing skills in Camrose.
Where: Jubilee Park tobogganing hill, located just SW of 50 Street and 47 Avenue in Camrose
Why: Why not??
In keeping with the idea that CARW2020 is a "fun for the whole family" type of event, we thought it would be fun to host an optional event where geocachers can pull out their toboggans and sleds, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. We hosted a similar event for CARW2019, and had a decent turnout even though the event was technically located outside of the CARW circle. With this year's CARW circle including Camrose, we're hoping that we'll see even more people show up. Even if your body won't allow you to plummet down a hill with little more than thin sheet of synthetic or semi-synthetic organic compound separating you and the frozen ground, we'd encourage you to come out for a quick visit and some hot chocolate before you continue along your way.
Come for as long as you can. We will be having a group photo of all geocachers who attend at 3:30pm, so hopefully this allows those who arrive late (or who have to leave early) to make it for some of the event. There will also be a log book present for those who wish to sign it.
If you can't stay for the group photo, please ensure you track down J or R to say hi.
Hope to see you there!!
