Before I came down to this area to do some cache maintenance nearby, I had no idea there was a 9/11 memorial in the Point Lookout area. After driving over to look around, I decided to place a cache here in case others had not been here before either. For those who have, it is another excuse to come back for another visit.
There is nothing special about the hide, other than the area that it is meant to bring you to. That is one of the gifts of geocaching that I have personally received many times over since starting to play this game. Many of you have brought me to places that I would never have known about, so I try to return the favor whenever I can.
Not that any of us needs an excuse to visit one of these spots, but sometimes after 18 years we can all use a little nudge from time to time. The cache is hidden far enough from the memorial that you will not disturb anyone when you are signing in. Thanks for visiting.
As of 6/20/2022 I have updated the attributes on this cache to show as not available 24/7. During the summer months, there is a fee collected between 8am and 5pm to get to the area where the cache and 9/11 memorial are located. If you are not willing to pay the fee, then please search for this cache outside those hours. Thanks!
