Από το 2017 οι επισκέπτες του CRETAquarium έχουν την ευκαιρία να θαυμάσουν ένα εντυπωσιακό ψηφιδωτό!
Το ψηφιδωτό μεγάλου μεγέθους που σχεδίασε η Κατερίνα Σπάρκς Αρναουτάκης δημιουργήθηκε στο εργαστήριό της στον Άγιο Νικόλαο. Είναι η συλλογική δουλειά της Κατερίνας Σπάρκς, της Άννας Μπούρας και της Βιβιανής Πριτσιλιάγου, υποστηριζόμενης από ένα πλήθος εθελοντών που μοιράζονται το ίδιο πάθος. Χρειάστηκαν 18 μήνες σκληρής δουλειάς προκειμένου ψηφίδα-ψηφίδα να ενωθούν όλα τα κομμάτια για να συμπληρώσουν μια τεράστια επιφάνεια εμβαδού 85 περίπου τ.μ. στην είσοδο του CRETAquarium. Η σύνθεση απεικονίζει το βυθό της θάλασσας με κεντρικό θέμα μια γοργόνα, που περιβάλλεται από ψάρια, χελώνες, ιππόκαμπους, αστερίες, μέδουσες κ.λπ.

Since 2017 the visitors of CRETAquarium mayadmire an impressive mosaic!
The large-size mosaic designed by Katerina Sparkes was created in her workshop in Agios Nikolaos. It is the collective work of Katerina Sparkes,Anne Bouras and Vivienne Pritsiliagos, supported by lots of volunteers who share the same passion. It took 18 months of hard work to assemble together all the pieces to fill a huge surface of approximately 85 square meters at the entrance of the CRETAquarium. The composition depicts the bottom of the sea with a central theme of a mermaid, surrounded by fish, turtles, seahorses, starfish, jellyfish etc.
The final will be found in some distance to CRETAquarium at these coordinates:

Besucher des CRETAquarium haben seit 2017 die Möglichkeit, ein beeindruckendes Mosaik zu bewundern!
Das von Katerina Sparkes entworfene großformatige Mosaik wurde in ihrer Werkstatt in Agios Nikolaos geschaffen. Es ist die gemeinsame Arbeit von Katerina Sparkes, Anne Bouras und Vievienne Pritsiliagos, die von einer Vielzahl von Freiwilligen unterstützt wurden, die dieselbe Leidenschaft teilen.
