Geocache Description:


Grosvenor Park is a Grade II registered, Green Flag Award winning public park located just outside the city of Chester’s historic walls overlooking the River Dee. Together with the riverfront and neighbouring St. John’s Church and ruins, the park forms a significant cultural precinct in the heart of the city. One of the finest examples of Victorian parks in the UK, it has a considerable history and now forms a valuable open space for the local community and visitors to the city, offering a wide variety of activities including the Activity Zone, The Lodge Café, Open Air Theatre and Miniature Railway. Restored to its former glory in 2014, the park was the recipient of a £2.4 million grant from the Heritage and Big Lottery Fund, with additional funding from WREN and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
