Geocache Description:

The Anatomy of a tree is Located at Hedden Park. You can learn a lot of information about the health of trees. The outer bark is the tree's protection from the outside world. It annually produces new bark and new wood in response to hormones that pass down through the phloem with food from the leaves. These hormones, called “auxins”, stimulate growth in cells.

The Anatomy of a tree cache is located in Hedden County Park, a 420 acre, general purpose park located in the Town of Dover and the Townships of Mine Hill and Randolph. The lake section, accessible from Ford Street and Reservoir Avenue, provides entrance to the picturesque 6-acre Hedden Pond, with a fishing deck, play area, and picnic shelter.
