New Zealand has lots of schools, but not nearly as many as it used to have. Schools were first built in the days when kids had to walk from their home so there was nothing strange about the fact that there was a school here - - - although there was another at Appleby and one at Brightwater. And of course every school had its bell. The bell could be heard for miles around and was a feature of many people's workday.
The cache is not in the bell or anywhere near it, so heroics are not required
