Under Yuma's sublime sunshine, join with geocachers from far and near
for a few minutes of frisky fun!
To refresh your memory: A flash mob is a brief gathering of people
who perform a peculiar act, then disperse.
Please arrive at 5:15, so there will be time to “organize.” The coordinates will take you to a parking lot near the Old Town traffic roundabout. Look for a vehicle with one or more red cups attached to the antenna and gather there. If possible, bring an empty red disposable cup similar to the one pictured here. We will have some extras, in case you don’t have one.
At 5:25, the music “Pomp and Circumstance” (that solemn graduation march) will start, and we will all walk into the roundabout, holding our empty red cups in two hands mid-chest, as if carrying a candle in a ceremony. Please spread out around the circle and face the fountain in the middle. Stand still and look for one or more of the people in royal blue shirts standing on the raised platform of the fountain, as they will be indicating the motions you should be making during the main song.
At 5:30 the music “Red Solo Cup” will begin. Just follow the leaders on the fountain in front of you, mirroring their motions as the song unwinds.
When the song ends, raise your cup and yell: “CHEERS!” Then, please take your red cup with you as you nonchalantly stroll away.
There are many excellent restaurants and watering holes in the Old Town area, so join old and new friends for a drink or a meal, and enjoy your evening. Thanks for participating in our “peculiar” event!
