It has become a bit of a tradition to hold this geocaching event with a difference, and so here we are for the third time running.
As is usual in workplaces and social groups everywhere, people like to put on their gift-giving hats during this time of year, with the help of secret santa and gift exchange events. We would like to apply this to our little geocaching community. However, we thought it might be best to give the secret santa aspect a bit of a twist, due to the nature of geocaching events. Giftees and gifters will not be drawn before the event itself, but these will be matched up during the event itself (randomly of course), so as no one will be left out in case of cancellations or such.
If you would just like to attend the event, but not take part in the gift exchange, feel free to do so.
Whoever would like to participate in the gift exchange need only bring along a gift (this can be anything, not necessarily Geocaching-related). So it is fair for everyone, if you are purchasing a gift, kindly do not exceed the €15 mark. If you do geocaching in a group, you can opt to take part as one, or individually. Giftees and gifters will be paired up as follows - everyone (who is participating) will write their name on labels that will be then throw in a hat. In turn, everyone draws out a label with a name - this will be the person who will receive your gift. If you draw your own or a partner's name from the hat, you are free to draw another name. The label with the name that you pick will go on the gift that you brought. All the gifts will then be distributed to the persons on the label, so as gifters can stay anonymous.
The event will take place on Sunday 29th December from 3:00PM until about 5:00PM. This year we decided to change the venue - we will be meeting at the Gnien l-Gharusa tal-Mosta. There is plenty of parking available.
Remember to watch the event for any announcements or changes we might need to make.
