Curtis Falls
This cache is not hidden in a National Park, but you will need to visit one to find it.

Curtis Falls is little hidden gem located in the Joalah section of the Tamborine National Park. Park your car at one of the parking locations, and follow the signs to the falls, which are the listed coordinates for this cache.
The walk progresses through tall flooded gums into a cool and lush rainforest. You’ll hear the falls before you see them - and if this is your first visit, they will no doubt take your breath away. You’ll either be presented with a torrent of water plunging over the towering basalt columns, or you’ll see a dainty curtain misting down into the pool below. Turtles and platypus are sometimes seen in the pool below – hence swimming is no longer allowed.
The walk is on a sealed path, with some rocky stairs and is an easy terrain – suitable for the whole family. You can be down and back in 30 minutes.
At the waterfall viewing platform (listed coordinates), you be able to read some information about the Curtis Family and the steam mill that they built here back in the day. To find the location of the cache – you’ll need to find the numbers to substitute into this statement (taken from the sign) below:
| “In 188A, the Curtis brothers, Sydney, Edgar and Clifford, built a steam mill with a B.Cm water wheel about D0-E0m upstream of the falls” |
