MOCCASIN CREEK WILDLIFE AREA - PAVED SECTION OF THE TRAIL
We discovered this archived cache while hiking this trail to find others. We learned it's (GC6RT8F - OT - For the Birds #3) and we revived it. However, the birdhouse has been muggled, but we decided to keep the GZ active. So, we hid a smaller cache to make it less visible to trail traffic. Posting the original description, since OldManJon does this so well! On that note, now it's available for previous cachers!
THE TRAIL
This southwest section of the Oldsmar Trail (OT) will take you through the Moccasin Creek Wildlife Area. This is a somewhat isolated section of the trail which is comprised of both asphalt and grass/dirt surfaces. The total length of trails is just a little over two-thirds of a mile.
PARKING
There is street-side parking at both ends of this section of the trail: at the very end of Emerald Bay Dr and at the curve on Mapleleaf Blvd. The Emerald Bay Dr area has more room but is at the grassy end of the trail. Mapleleaf Blvd is closer to the paved trail but is often crowded.
DOs and DON’Ts
- Please return the cache container to the location where it was found.
- Overhead tree cover, cloud cover, or power lines may affect the accuracy of your GPS unit.
- As with every cache, please use extreme stealth when retrieving, to keep caches from being muggled!
- Bring plenty of sunscreen, water, and mosquito repellent.
- Have lots of fun!
Congratulations to YoAdrian for being the FTF!!
