Geocache Description:

Situated in Magnesia Spring Canyon in the Santa Rosa Mountains (elevation 1830').

Magnesia Spring Canyon has many beautiful waterfalls to climb and palm oases to explore. Bighorn sheep live here.

I enjoyed a birthday morning hike to revisit the top of the canyon. The foliage was vibrant green and the waterfalls were again flowing after a recent rain.

The canyon is trailess, so navigation and rock scrambling required. Know your limitations. Start at Blixseth Mountain Park in Rancho Mirage. Roundtrip hike, or set up a car shuttle to loop with the Art Smith Trail or Dunn Road.

Cache is a glass jar, located above Magnesia Falls in a palm oasis deep in the canyon. Bring a pen.
